Final UK Shorinji Kempo Seminar of 2018 – 18 November

The date is confirmed, the venue is booked for the final UK Shorinji Kempo seminar of 2018.

Details are as follows:

  • Sunday, November 18th
  • 10am to 4pm
  • Ellen Wilkinson School, Queen’s Drive, Acton, London W3 0HW

Juniors are welcome between 10am and 12pm.

There will be a 45-minute lunch break but lunch will not be provided. Please bring your own packed lunch or you can purchase something from the local shops and cafes within a couple of minutes walk of the venue.

We are very pleased to announce an “end of year special extra”, we will have a short “Edged weapon defence seminar” which will be an abbreviated version of the edged weapon defence taught to law enforcement. We are lucky that one of our seniors is an instructor of this in his working life, truly an opportunity not to be missed.

Our current schedule for the event is as follows:

  • 10am. Chinkon, Taiso, Kihon
  • 11am. Technical training, Goho
  • 12:30pm. Lunch
  • 1pm. Howa
  • 1:30pm. Technical training, Juho
  • 2:30pm. Edged weapon defence seminar
  • 3:30pm. Seiho or continuing edged weapon defence seminar
  • 4pm. Closing
Instruction will be by federation branch masters, and we are very pleased to say that we hope Maehara Sensei will be able to attend in an advisory capacity on the day.

Fees are as follows:

  • Adults £15
  • Students & Unemployed £10
  • Juniors £5

If you are arriving by car there is plenty of parking on site. However, if you arrive before 10am and the gates are not open please do not park in front of the gates otherwise the caretaker will not be able to drive in to open up!

The closest tube is North Ealing on the Piccadilly Line, but the venue is only a 10-minute walk from West Acton on the Central Line.

If you get lost on the day please call Sensei Jonny Daymond on 07939 286 265.
