We are very pleased to announce the final details and registration for the UKSKF Summer Seminar 2022. Please find all the details below with further details on seminar schedule to be released in due course.
Seminar Chief Instructors
We are very grateful to have the following instructors in attendance for the seminar. They will be teaching sessions throughout and supported by other UKSKF instructors and branch masters.
Anders Pettersson Sensei
Anders Sensei is Shibu-chō at Karlstad Shibu in Sweden. He has been a great friend to the UKSKF for many years and we are very grateful for his ongoing support.
He has the rank of Junhanshi 6 Dan and also the Sōkai rank Shōdōshi (准範士 六段 少導師). In addition he was appointed WSKO Instructor, International Instructor and International Judge in 2019.
Please come armed with questions to take advantage of Anders Sensei’s encyclopedic knowledge of Shorinji Kempo.
Steve Williams Sensei
Steve Sensei our UKSKF President will be teaching sessions alongside Anders Sensei. He attained the rank of 5 Dan in 2004 and is currently training for 6 Dan grading in 2023.
Location & Timings
Please find below the current location and timings of training and social activities. There is an optional additional training session on Friday evening 9th September for anyone who can attend.
- Friday 9th September – 20:00 – 21:30 – Littledown Sports Centre, Chaseside, Bournemouth BH7 7DX – optional training session followed by pizza in the village
- Saturday 10th September – 10:00 – 16:00 – Two Riversmeet Leisure Centre, Christchurch BH23 1HW – main seminar day 1
- Saturday 10th September – 19:00 – close – The Bear of Burton, 15-17 Salisbury Road, Burton, Christchurch BH23 7JG – evening social event
- Sunday 11th September – 10:00 – 16:00 – Two Riversmeet Leisure Centre, Christchurch BH23 1HW – main seminar day 2
Training & Social Event Fees
Attendance fees for the seminar are detailed below:
Friday Evening Training £15 – price includes training session and pizza meal afterwards
Main Seminar £75 – price includes two days training with our guest instructors, lunch both days and evening meal on Saturday 10th September
Saturday or Sunday training £35 – price includes one day training with our guest instructors and lunch
Saturday Night Meal £20 – kenshi are welcome to bring guests for the Saturday night meal. Please specify in the dietary requirements section of the registration form.
Registration
To register for the event please complete and submit the form below. You will then be sent an email with payment instructions. Payment must be received to complete your registration. If you do not receive an email in short order please check your spam folders or contact Calvin Lo Sensei at gen-secretary@ukskf.org.
Accommodation
Please note accommodation is not included in the seminar fee and will need to be arranged by branches and kenshi directly. There are two Premier Inns located under 10 minutes drive and around 30 minutes walk (10 minutes jog) from the Two Riversmeet Leisure Centre. There are plenty of other hotels, hostels, B&Bs and Campsites in and around Bournemouth. However book early to avoid disappointment.
