Training times & venue
Training is every Monday & Wednesday from 6:30pm – 8:30pm at North Acton Pavilion, Eastfields Road, London W3 0JF
Training at West London Shorinji Kempo follows the traditional structure:
- Chinkon gyo – meditation & oath
- Taiso – warm up
- Kihon – basic single form movement
- Hokei – paired practice on specific techniques, or principles
- Technical practice by grade – split into different grade groups to practice techniques for next examinations
We have a good mixture of grades at the West London branch with complete beginners (minarai) some green belts, brown belts and some dan grades (black belts).

Our Instructors
Branch Master – Jonny Daymond
4th Dan Seikenshi
Sensei Jonny Daymond has been practicing martial arts for over 40 years. During that time he has trained in two different styles of Karate, Ku Do Kai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Shorinji Kempo.
He began training in Shorinji Kempo in 2000 and has trained at dojos and seminars throughout the UK, Japan, Sweden, Germany, & Portugal.
Assistant Branch Master – Minesh Patel
3rd Dan Seikenshi
Minesh started his Kempo journey in his final year of university. He has trained with a number of dojos in the UK and has been the resident assistant branch master at Acton for several years.
Branch Captain – Jenni Lipscombe
2nd Dan
Jenni was one of the first students at the West London branch having joined in 2011. She comes to Shorinji Kempo with a previous 2nd degree black belt in Karate.
